In the Spring of 1989, just after the United States presidential 
election, during a time of relative friendship with the Soviet Union a 
few months before the Berlin Wall was to come down, Fidel Castro and the
 Cuban government, for the first time in thirty years, invited 
journalists from the United States to stay and document the current way 
of life in Cuba. It is this time frame, and in these circumstances which
 this series of photographs were taken.
There are 150 photographs in this portfolio, printed on 11"x14" Portriga Rapid paper, and matted to 16"x20".
