In the Spring of 1989, just after the United States presidential
election, during a time of relative friendship with the Soviet Union a
few months before the Berlin Wall was to come down, Fidel Castro and the
Cuban government, for the first time in thirty years, invited
journalists from the United States to stay and document the current way
of life in Cuba. It is this time frame, and in these circumstances which
this series of photographs were taken.
There are 150 photographs in this portfolio, printed on 11"x14" Portriga Rapid paper, and matted to 16"x20".
